| Abstract: | : | ICT solutions have long been shown to improve the livelihood of underprivileged communities. However, many of these projects die the very moment the research and development project finishes. One of the causes might be that the sustainability of the ICT solution itself is not considered. In the lecture, I will draw on research on software ecosystems to argue that the interaction of heterogeneous stakeholders and multi-sided economic models must be supported by the technical design for sustainable software products. The lecture uses the collaborative research project between the IT University and the IIT Mandi SaIAFarm as an example for how the design of sustainable ICT for sustainable development can be further explored. |
