Abstract: | : | With the advent of large number of dense networks, it was imperative
that IEEE had to design a new standard that specifically addresses
this issue. Coupled with Quality of Service (QoS) and PHY
enhancements, IEEE 802.11ax will be the first 802.11 standard that
addresses, dense network management, power savings and QoS while
increasing per link throughput. This talk will cover how the standard
evolves as a standard and how it addresses the market problems. This
talk will also address how to develop skill set as a student to meet
up the challenges and be prepared to work in the industry. Bio: Sai Shankar N has been leading Cypress’s efforts in standardizing IEEE 802.11ax and has contributed extensively to the Wi-Fi 6 testplan and IEEE 802.11ax Standardization. He has received his PhD degree from the department of Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, and has worked Philips Research -Eindhoven, Philips Research USA, Qualcomm - Corporate Research and Development (CR&D), Broadcom, Tensorcom, Adeptence and Ubilite before joining Cypress. He has actively contributed to Intserv, Diffserv, 802.14, 802.11e/n/k/ac/ad/ax and was nominated as one of the five finalists by EE Times in the Innovator of the Year Category in 2005. He also served as adjunct professor at Polytechnic University of NY and is Senior Member of the IEEE. He has authored more than 60 conference and journal papers, delivered more than 25 tutorials at prestigious IEEE conferences and filed more than 80 patents. |
