Abstract: | : | In this talk, I will introduce my work in the past two years on interesting problems in two research areas of my interest: Sub-graph outlier mining and Entity mining. In sub-graph outlier mining, I will touch upon the problems of mining topK interesting subgraphs, local learning for mining outlier subgraphs, and the graph cuboid outlier problem. In Entity mining, I will discuss the problems of modeling evolution of product entities, extracting structured natural disaster events from Twitter, extracting person infoboxes from books, and finally linking event mentions from cricket match reports to commentaries.
