Abstract: | : | In this talk I will introduce blockchain, the critical concepts
powering the blockchain, and how they come together to implement a
trust layer. We will discuss if a blockchain solution is appropriate
for your research projects and business applications. I will provide
an overview of application development for the blockchain using smart
contracts and the DApp (Decentralized application) stack. I will
conclude the talk with several use cases that will provide the answer
to the question that is on many of our minds - Is blockchain yet
another hype? - I will let you decide after the talk.
