Abstract: | : | This talk provides a broad overview of Machine Perception - a set of technologies that enable machines to achieve human-level intelligence in sensory perception. Some examples of Machine Perception technologies are Image Understanding, Video Understanding, Handwriting Recognition, and Optical Character Recognition. The talk is structured to provide illustrative case-studies of Machine Perception technology, both from a engineering standpoint and also from the standpoint of how it gets used in real-world products at scale. In conclusion, the talk also presents some of the significant open-challenges in Machine Perception.
