Abstract: | : | Techniques from Data Analytics, by which I mean: Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, Machine Learning and Statistics, are being applied increasingly to security challenges such as phishing, intrusion and malware detection, among others. This talk will cover the unique challenges posed by the cyber security domain to data analytics with illustrative examples, and some of the progress that has been made so far in addressing key challenges. Many challenges remain and there is a broad scope for future research, some of which will be outlined.
