In order to encourage excellence in research, a scheme of Research & Development Awards for faculty members was introduced in 2013-14. These awards are known as "Institute Research & Development Awards (IRDA)".
The salient features of the Institute Research & Development Awards for Mid-Career level are given below:
The award carries a grant of Rs 40 lakhs, to be operated as a project through IC&SR. The duration of the project will be for 3 years.
This amount can be utilized during the project period for:
- Professional activity (such as equipment purchase, consumables and contingency, travel within India, inviting collaborators, etc.)
- Two international conference attendances.
- One Post Doctoral Fellow.
- Cost of two professional society memberships.
- A citation and a memento at the Institute Day function.
- The Awardee will be deemed eligible for Institutional nomination to suitable prestigious national / international recognition.
